Generally, a gauge should be selected to read twice the maximum working pressure of the application in which it is used. Many pressure spikes can then be absorbed without damage to the gauge.
Liquid Filled Gauges:
Liquid effectively absorbs shock and eliminates needle pulsation. These gauges have a brass stem and 2 1/2" face.
Stainless Steel Gauges:
These gauges feature stainless steel internal components, well suited for use with corrosive fertilizer solutions. Bottom connection is 1/4" N.P.T. black laquered steel.Liquid Filled Gauges:

Ag-Chem Gauges:
Ag-Chem gauges give you the most for the money! These general purpose dry gauges have 1/4" NPT brass connection. For anhydrous ammonia application, use stainless steel gauges only!
Gauges with Oil-Filled Dampener:
An oil-filled dampener prevents needle pulsations. A pre-measured amount of oil is used in each dampener to maintain accuracy. Dampener will also prevent foreign material from entering the gauge orifice. Dampener has 1/4" N.P.T. male threads, Height 6 inches.
