Diaphragm pumps are lightweight and compact compared to other pump types with similar flow and pressure ratings. They are self-priming and require less horsepower than other pump types with similar flow and pressure ratings. Models which require pulsation dampening have the dampers built onto the manifold. Like piston pumps, diaphragm pumps are positive displacement; output remains constant with pump speed.

Hypro's medium pressure D50 diaphragm pump is recommended for ground spraying as well as lawn and garden spraying. Pump housing is an anodized aluminum and wetted parts are all epoxy-coated. Pulsation dampener is standard.
